I thought the William Morris -- as opposed to California and the trademark quarter-sawn oak -- revival started in the 1980s, but my memory is wildly unreliable. Wasn't there a pre-Raphaelite painting reappreciation then, or was it just me?

In any case, everybody agrees that 1950 hatred of Arts & Crafts is in no way out of synch with the times.
