I think a lot of fic gets read offline nowadays, which skews the ratios.

On Xmas day I was away from good internet, so when Yuletide went live I downloaded about 20 stories to read offline. Then I had to remember to go back and leave kudos once I got home.

On reread, frankly, it just didn't work. It was written to a pinch-hit deadline and needed a longer incubation period. (You're always in danger when you're thinking THIS IS HILARIOUS as you write. No good ever comes of this.)
