I must say the one time we got seriously pickpocketed, the guy pulled R's wallet out of an inside raincoat pocket. While I was stiff-arming his partner who was In My Space. (Barcelona: why bother going back?)

Scottevest: I'll have to try one someday. They risk looking like the dreaded Photographer's Vest. I do use my parkas that way and am burningly loyal to Marmot for the small right breast pocket accessed from just inside the storm flap which was perfect for dead batteries and cards. On the left the inside-inside pocket is one perfect for live batteries and filled cards. I believe that the classic trench coats are well-endowed with pockets, but have not tried one out.
