West Coasters take note

The FDA has issued a public health alert (not yet a recall) for all Foster Farms raw chicken products processed at three plants. You'll find the numbers "P6137", “P6137A”, or “P7632” on the packaging.  (We had to hunt to find it; it wasn't inside the FDA inspection seal.)

If that's your chicken, congratulations! You may be holding in your hands a free trip to Salmonella Heidelbergiensis. Or maybe not. They aren't sure. There's definitely an outbreak associated with those three plants, but the FDA haven't yet isolated the source.

Guess who just had to throw out the supper plans, along with the main ingredient?

Yikes! Between PG&E and the chicken, you are kind of having a week here.

Thank you for the info. And yeah, you are 2 for 2 on disasters narrowly averted.
