Doctor Who: Kill The Moon (spoilers)

God that was stupid. STUPID STUPID STUPID. STUPID AGAIN. And the Doctor went from simply rude to actually cruel.

• • CONSERVATION OF MASS, ASSHOLES. A baby thing inside the Moon cannot increase the Moon's mass because no mass is being added from the outside. Period. A human baby increases the mother's mass because the mother is constantly eating and passing the mass on. (To say nothing of the increases to the mother's tissue.)
  • Increase the mass of the moon sufficiently to increase its gravity, and its orbit is going to decay. Tides are the least of it.
  • CONSERVATION OF MASS, ASSHOLES. The space bird can't lay another egg the same mass as the old Moon, because it's (A) lower in mass than the old moon and (B) hasn't had time to acquire mass other than that it hatched with.
  • Were they spiders? Germs? McGuffins? How on earth would a thing inside an egg have parasites? And why would an Earth disinfectant work on an alien whatever-it-is? For all we know, these McGuffins thrive on 70% alcohol or whatever it was.
  • [edit] Apparently they've solved that whole lightspeed problem in radio and visible spectrum communications between the Earth and the Moon.   Good to know.  (I remember the Moon landing, dammit.)
  • The Doctor was a cruel jerk. (The business about not telling a child she's special, and being unable to do so.) Cruel is way, way past rude. I love Capaldi, but I'm starting to dislike his Doctor.
  • Stupid plot.
  • I am SICK SICK SICK of the woman in authority who is cruel and callous.
  • I like the Disruptive Influence and her preparation for space-sickness.
  • Why doesn't the Doctor ever lock the door of the fricking TARDIS nowadays?
  
  My daughter: There is a minimum requirement for anything set on the Moon. I want hops. Slow bounces in the air. Every other program does it. Hops.
  
  Me: I want moondust. That looks like Christmas-tree flocking.
