Despise an 1800s fictional character!

 Please nominate characters in 1800s novels that you would like to kick in the shins.   (Pacifists may substitute "give the cut direct" as preferred.)  Feel free to lobby for your candidates and explain why they are most worthy of the honors.   After nominations close (whenever I get around to it) I'll put up a head-to-head deathmatch.
