Scene. My daughter and I are grimly cleaning out the peninsula junk drawer, which has an infestation of (dead) meal-moth larvae.
Me, brightly: "Did you know there's a Latin proverb about 'Someday we'll look back at this and laugh!'
Daughter: "There is not."
Me (from memory, and therefore wrong): "Forsan et haec meminisse juvabit."
The confluence of an appropriate occasion and one of my very scanty library of Latin tags will, statistically, reoccur in the year 2525.
