Called my awesome Rep, Jackie Speier, to request she stand with John Lewis and boycott the Inauguration. It's a Federal holiday (Martin Luther King Day), so the office is closed. This is not surprising. What is surprising is that at 12:20 Washington time, the voicemail box is already full.

It's been our experience since the election that the voicemail boxes of our rep and both senators, at all offices, fill up by mid-Saturday of a weekend. In general, boxes at DC offices fill up later than local ones. OTOH, whether, during office hours, you can get a person varies greatly varies -- for one, we do DC office, for another our closest local, and for the third local in the other county she reps.

To my surprise, I actually managed one message to my rep this morning, but as expected neither senator. So I'd do those calls tomorrow.

Kind of disappointed mine are. Then again Elizabeth Warren's very presence is trolling the Orange Gobshite. So win?
